Before We Start: This article is intended for any SharePoint user who wants to access SharePoint files in their File Explorer. SharePoint can also be accessed via a web browser.
Important: Depending on how many files you are syncing, this process could take several hours. Additionally, be selective of what you sync due to Microsoft imposed sync limits.
To Learn about Syncing limitations, read this article.
Step 1: Navigate to the SharePoint Site and Document Library that will be synced.
Note: SharePoint sites have a default Document Library titled "Documents".
Step 2: Click the Sync Button.
Step 3: Click Open Microsoft One Drive when prompted by your browser.
Note: Check the box shown in the prompt to avoid this step in future SharePoint syncs.
Step 4: Enter "File Explorer" into your Windows search bar and click File Explorer
Step 5: Select the file path where the files/folder were synced to (the name of the file path should be your company's name). The document library that was synced will appear in this file path.
Note: If the synced document library does not appear in the SharePoint file path, download the latest version of OneDrive and repeat steps 1-5.
