Purpose:
This is a instructional article that will assist the target audience in understanding how to factory reset a Windows 10/11 computer prior to repurposing or shipping back for destruction.

Examples of when to use this article:
- A remote wipe factory reset is unsuccessful
- A computer is being returned via mail and needs to be wiped prior to sending
- A computer is being repurposed for a new user
Before We Start:
- Validate a recent successful backup has occurred by clicking on the Druva icon in the lower right hand corner or reaching out and asking Ariento support
- Very Important: Validate that Bitlocker has been turned off or disabled on the device (Control Panel->BitLocker Drive Encryption)
Instructions/Process:

- Click the search magnifying glass or windows icon on the taskbar and type "reset"

- Click the search magnifying glass or windows icon on the taskbar and type "reset"
- Select "Reset this PC" option
- Select "Get Started" or "Reset PC" button
- Chosen to "Remove everything"

- Choose "Cloud download" unless you have a very slow internet connection (in which case choose Local reinstall).

- Confirm that you want to reset. Before the process begins fully, Windows will ask for final confirmation that you definitely want to reset your device.
- Leave the computer plugged in to a power source and the resetting process will finish. Depending on how much is stored on the device, this could take up to a couple of hours.
