Create a team site in SharePoint - Microsoft Support
Ariento Recommended Settings:
- Navigate to SharePoint app in portal.office.com or portal.office365.us (GCC-High)
- Click "Create Site"
- Select "Team Site"
- Select a template
- Give the site a name and description
- Privacy Settings
- For sites hosting sensitive data according to the data classification matrix, choose "Private"
- For sites not hosting sensitive data, select "Public"
- Add members and create site
- Note: members can edit and view content on the site
- Click the Gear in top right->Site permissions
- Add any additional owners of site
- Add any visitors of site (can read but can't edit)
- Site Information->View all site settings
- Search and Offline Ability-> Select no for Offline Client Ability if it is a site that hosts sensitive data according to the data classification matrix
- Gear in top right->Library settings->More settings
- Advanced Settings
- Offline & Sync->Select no for all radio buttons if it is a site that hosts sensitive data according to the data classification matrix
- Versioning Settings
- Require Check Out to yes if applicable (Usually only for sensitive data sites)
- Advanced Settings
- If want to change member permissions so they can't share
- Settings Gear->Site Permissions->Change How Members Can Share
- Select "Only site owners can share files, folders, and the site"
- This is recommended setting for sites hosting sensitive data
